Fisk Organbuilders of Gloucester, Massachusetts, Opus 110 houses 4,632 pipes divided into a pedal division and five distinct manual divisions: Great, Positive, Swell, Tuba and Bombarde. The instrument uses mechanical-action ("trackers") linkages between the keys and the valves ("pallets") that allow air into the pipes Minato Mirai Hall is the municipal concert hall for Yokohama and is adjacent to Pacifico Yokohama, the IETF 94 venue.
Come enjoy a noon recital by Palo Alto, California organist Rodney Gehrke and join us later in the evening when Kaori, Mineko, Naki and Rodney demonstate some of the many musical and engineering aspects of this great instrument. Works by Bach, Dukas, de Grigny, Kondo, Mendelssohn, Sweelinck, Widor, and others. Admission is free. The events are open to the public.
